Registered Nurse - Oncology - City, ST
Overview
- Facility Setting:
- Unit/Department: 18J - Oncology Telemetry
- Shift: Night (19:00 - 07:30)
Requirements
- License: RN (Compact: Yes)
- Certs: BCLS, ACLS
- Experience: 2 years oncology preferred
- EMR: Epic
- Compliance: COVID-19 Vaccine: Not Required, Flu Vaccine: Required - Medical Exemptions Only
- Locals: Accepted at the same rate
- RTO Policy: Required with submission, must be built into contract
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for patients with solid tumors and various oncological conditions.
- Monitor and manage high acuity PCU patients, focusing on infection prevention and patient safety protocols.
- Administer medications and treatments, including chemotherapy and blood products.
- Perform central line care and maintenance, including PICC line management.
- Evaluate and interpret dysrhythmias, utilizing rapid response teams as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members regarding patient health status and needed interventions.

- Scrub/dress code: hospital policy
- Orientation logistics: First week is Monday to Friday dayshift orientation, second week is 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptor.
