TITLE: Clerk - Superintendent's Office
CLASSIFICATION: Classified Hourly
REPORTS TO: Executive Assistant to the Superintendent and Governing Board
SUMMARY: The Clerk in the Superintendent's Office provides clerical and administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the district's central office. This position assists the Superintendent and administrative staff with correspondence, scheduling, communications, and recordkeeping while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Performs a wide variety of clerical and administrative duties to support the Superintendent and central office staff.
* Prepares, proofreads, and distributes correspondence, reports, and official documents.
* Maintains organized and confidential records, files, and databases.
* Receives and directs phone calls, emails, and visitors courteously and efficiently.
* Schedules and coordinates meetings, appointments, and district events.
* Assists with preparation of Board of Education meeting agendas, minutes, and supporting materials.
* Handles incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries.
* Assists in compiling data and preparing reports for district and state compliance.
* Supports district communications such as newsletters, announcements, and notices.
* Maintains office supplies and ensures a well-organized work environment.
* Upholds strict confidentiality and professionalism in all matters.
* Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience providing administrative support to management-level staff preferred.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:
* Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
* Professional demeanor when interacting with staff, students, parents, and the community.
* Preferred Spanish speaking
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment. Occasional extended hours may be required for meetings or special events.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
12-month year, Classified Hourly Salary Schedule - Level E, employee benefits, in accordance with Board Policies.
EVALUATION:
Performance to be evaluated in accordance with Board policy on evaluation of classified staff.
