Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Staff Accountant to assist their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting pay rate of $35.00 to $38.00 per hour.
Job Responsibilities:
* Process accounts payable by reviewing invoices, issuing payments, and maintaining vendor records.
* Manage employee expense reporting through Expensify and ensure timely reconciliation.
* Reconcile housing subsidy database and generate monthly rent checks, including adjustments as needed.
* Prepare daily cash reports, journal entries, and monthly account reconciliations.
* Support financial reporting, system improvements, and audit preparation as assigned.
Requirements:
* Demonstrate strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting regulations.
* Communicate effectively with staff, vendors, and agency contacts.
* Apply strong problem-solving skills and provide compliance guidance to stakeholders.
* Maintain accuracy and organization in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment.
* Exhibit sound judgment and include appropriate stakeholders in decision-making processes.
Qualifications:
* A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field.
* 2+ years of accounting experience, including journal entry preparation.
* Show proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and enterprise accounting platforms.
* Adapt to changes in duties, structure, and priorities with flexibility.
* Preferably have experience in nonprofit accounting and financial reporting systems.
