Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Report to and be accountable to the Division Manager and Operations
* Is thoroughly familiar with current OSHA
* Ensure that company Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) is available to all company Check to ensure there is compliance.
* Continuously seek out new ways to heighten employee awareness towards
* Ensure safety is maintained at all project
* Conduct audits to ensure all Pre-Task Plans (PTP) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) forms are filled out
* Inform Project Managers and Superintendents of all safety violations immediately and take corrective
* Inform Operations Manager, Project Managers and Superintendents of problem employees needing supervisory correction and ensure counseling is documented.
* Maintain a master Safety Data Sheets (SDS) in accessible
* Attend all safety meetings held by client(s).
* Speak at company-wide mass safety meeting
* Participate in monitoring of site-specific incident prevention plans, if required by client (e.g., Site Incident Prevention Plans [SIPP]).
* Keep all company managers and foremen informed of changes and
* Regularly review the Corporate Environmental Health and Safety program to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and requirements.
* Correspond frequently with site safety managers at other Brycon project sites to network safety programs, problems, trends and incident/accident reviews.
* Learn what problems and solutions are happening corporate-wide to head off unexpected
* Work closely with safety representation from other on-site organizations to identify hazards and determine solutions for site-wide issues.
* Incorporate appropriate solutions into the corporate environmental health and safety (EHS)
* Responsible for all other duties as
* Attend Company-required training and other training required to maintain certificates, as required and approved by the Division Manager.
* Conduct regular jobsite safety inspections and document inspection results. Assist with correction of safety hazards identified and perform verbal and/or written coaching when required.
* Conduct required safety training and safety orientations for divisions and jobsites; document training and attendance for safety training records.
* Supervise and mentor multiple safety representatives on a
* Maintain and frequently update incident log to track incidents and
* Conduct detailed incident investigation reports, including root cause analysis, corrective measure implementation, and lead post incident review meetings.
* Ensure jobsites have complete Site Specific Safety plans prepared and
* Train all Brycon personnel in all safety related issues, procedures and class-required certifications to meet OSHA
* Keep all training matrix records in addition to what is required by
* From time to time, an exempt employee may be required to work additional hours (in excess of 40 per week) to accomplish the goals and deliverables of his or her position. These additional hours may include non-normal work hours, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications and Requirements:
* High school diploma or equivalent desired.
* Three years' experience of safety management leadership.
* Favorable driver's record/valid license desired.
* OSHA 500 certification and additional specialized training in safety training is desired.
* Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted during work activities.
* Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
* Knowledge and acceptance of good health and safety principles and practices during work.
* Thorough understanding of and ability to enforce all federal, state, local, and company regulations, protocols, and/or procedures.
* Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures essential.
* Ability to develop and deliver presentations.
* Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
* Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
* Ability to supervise and train staff, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
* Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
* Ability to develop, implement, and enforce safety programs and protocols.
* Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and and procedures.
* This position is a safety sensitive position, must successfully complete background check and drug/alcohol testing
