Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring Trauma Level I experience and flexibility with weekend and floating requirements.
Job Details
- Work in a hospital-based Progressive Care Unit focused on cardiovascular patient care,
- Patient population includes those with congestive heart failure, post-myocardial infarction, pulmonary hypertension, cardiac arrhythmias, COPD, congenital heart defects, infective endocarditis, and post-cath lab procedures,
- Staffing ratio is 1:4,
- Night shifts (4x12 hours, 19:00-07:30),
- Floating required to various levels of care including Med-Surg, ICU, and between affiliate hospitals,
- Uses Cerner EMR system; prior experience required,
- Weekend requirement is to work at least 50% of weekends during the contract,
- Charge nurse responsibilities may be needed depending on operational needs, with training provided,
Job Requirements
- Active IN or compact RN license required for consideration,
- Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE-accredited nursing program required,
- Minimum of 2 years RN experience in a PCU or Trauma Level I setting required,
- Current BCLS certification required; ACLS preferred,
- Experience with cardiac PCU skills including drips, post-cath lab care, IV starts, and sheath pulls required,
- Skills in conscious sedation and telemetry preferred,
- Must be willing to precept or be assigned students to shadow,
- No local candidates accepted for this position,
- Previous IU perm or PRN staff must have a 12-month separation before applying as a traveler,
Additional Information
- All travelers will float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital as needed,
- Responsibilities include close monitoring of cardiovascular patients and care for post-cath lab procedures and pre-LVAD or transplant evaluations,
- Charge coverage may be required based on operational needs, with support and resources provided,
- First-time travelers are accepted,
- Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays if assigned during the contract,
- Up to 5 days of RTO (time off) can be auto-approved,
- Call-ins may require making up the shift during the contract period,
- Teaching hospital environment; nurses may be required to precept or mentor students,
