Clinical Pharmacist - Emergency Department | Level 1 Trauma Center

Location: On-site | Fort Sam Houston, TX 78208

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM CT

Compensation: $57.69-$67.30/hour + $5K-$10K Sign-On Bonus

Our client, a healthcare organization supporting a military base, is seeking an experienced Clinical Pharmacist to join its Emergency Department team at a Level 1 Trauma Center. This role offers the opportunity to practice in a high-acuity environment while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary clinical teams.

What You'll Do

* Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and care teams to optimize medication therapy

* Provide direct patient care, including treatment assessments and medication management

* Respond to Level 1 trauma activations, code blue events, and massive blood transfusion emergencies

* Monitor and manage drug therapies, including pharmacokinetics, renal and hepatic dosing, and antibiotic stewardship

* Interpret and verify medication orders, ensuring accurate dispensing and documentation

* Facilitate discharge planning and provide patient medication education

* Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of clinical protocols

* Provide drug information and therapeutic guidance to healthcare professionals

* Monitor adverse drug reactions, polypharmacy, and high-dose medication risks

What You Bring

Required

* Residency & Experience (one of the following):

* Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency and an ASHP-accredited PGY2 in Emergency Medicine or Critical Care Pharmacy

OR

* Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency plus 3 years of practical clinical experience in Emergency Medicine, with BPS board certification

* Current, unrestricted Texas pharmacist license

* BLS and ACLS certifications

* Ability to meet ASHP-Qualified Residency Preceptor standards within one year of employment

* Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited college or university

* Valid driver's license Preferred

* Board certification

* Prior inpatient pharmacy experience

Working Conditions

* On-site role within a medical facility

* Driving may be required
