Position Overview
The Driver/Transportation Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and providing safe, timely transportation for residents to medical appointments, social outings, and facility-related activities while delivering courteous, professional service.
Key Responsibilities
* Schedule and coordinate transportation for residents to medical appointments, social events, and other outings.
* Safely operate company vehicles in compliance with all traffic laws and facility policies.
* Assist residents in and out of vehicles, ensuring comfort, dignity, and safety at all times.
* Perform basic vehicle checks and coordinate routine maintenance to keep vehicles in safe working order.
* Maintain accurate records of trips, schedules, mileage, and vehicle maintenance.
* Communicate professionally with residents, families, and staff to confirm and update transportation needs.
* Follow all healthcare, infection control, and transportation regulations and policies.
Qualifications
* Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
* Current STNA (State Tested Nursing Assistant) certification required.
* Previous experience as a driver, transportation aide, or similar role in healthcare preferred.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
* Ability to assist residents with mobility needs and perform light vehicle upkeep.
