The Trademark Specialist will support all aspects of intellectual property protection for a luxury brand, focusing on trademark prosecution, enforcement, and anti-counterfeiting efforts. This hybrid role, based in midtown Manhattan, requires a formally trained paralegal with 5-10 years of experience in trademark law, preferably within the luxury industry. The position involves managing filings, monitoring deadlines, conducting clearance searches, and assisting with infringement matters under the guidance of the Director of Intellectual Property. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and skilled in building efficient processes to safeguard the company's IP assets.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and file U.S. trademark applications, renewals, affidavits, and related documents.
* Conduct trademark clearance searches and monitor infringement, including anti-counterfeiting enforcement.
* Manage trademark and domain name portfolios, maintain IP databases, and track deadlines.
* Support TTAB proceedings, opposition/cancellation actions, and draft cease-and-desist letters under supervision.
* Generate reports on trademark activity and assist with billing review and vendor compliance.
Preferred Skills:
* BA degree and/or ABA-approved paralegal certificate; 5+ years of IP paralegal experience.
* Expertise in U.S. trademark law, USPTO procedures, and IP management software.
* Strong organizational, project management, and time-management skills with meticulous attention to detail.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and cloud-based document systems; excellent written and oral communication.
* Experience with luxury brand IP preferred; ability to prioritize competing deadlines effectively.
Compensation: $120,000-150,000
Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
