What You Will Be Doing
You will apply technical knowledge to prepare and review income, estate/trust and gift tax returns and provide staff with feedback, review situations and transactions to determine federal, state and local filing requirements
Support our management and weigh in on internal strategy discussions with clients and collaborate with their financial advisors Identify and resolve client tax related questions and issues
Exhibit strong communication skills (verbal; written; presentation) with clients, advisors, tax authorities, firm staff, and management
Performs other duties as assigned BS/BA Degree, accounting preferred
CPA Eligible with exams passed and or scheduled for your CPA license, and 2+ years individual, trust and gift tax return preparation
Proficiency in income tax planning and compliance
Multi-state tax preparation/filing experience preferred Form 1041 Trust & Estate and Form 709 Gift return experience
Strong Excel and other software skills Lacerte, CCH, UltraTax or other tax software experience preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills and attention to detail
Strong interpersonal and client service skills
Ability to handle multiple priorities, clients and tight deadlines
What You Need for this Position
The Tax Associate is responsible for tax services provided to clients such as federal, state and local income tax preparation, tax projections and analysis, and notice resolution. This position is mostly preparation, however will eventually involve some client-facing activities, providing comprehensive tax services to existing clients, and assisting our advisors and financial planning team with strategic tax planning. You will work in a complex, team-oriented, and fast-paced environment to deliver comprehensive investment and wealth strategies to clients. We are primarily in-office, however we offer a flexible work environment, supports personal and professional growth, and embrace a culture of supporting each other, our communities, and our clients.
- Experience with Excel/Word/Outlook/Salesforce/PowerPoint, with an emphasis on Excel.
- Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing and fast-paced business environment.
We use CCH, so knowledge and proficiency with CCH are ideal, however we are open to using the ideal software for our clients and needs, and so could be pivoting to another system in the future.
