Salary: $60,721.00–$99,083.00

Job Summary The Cardiac Sonographer performs diagnostic, non‑invasive and invasive cardiac exams on patients using ultrasound equipment to evaluate the heart. The testing modalities include Transthoracic Echocardiography, Transesophageal Echocardiography, and Cardiac Stress testing.

Essential Functions

Perform diagnostic echocardiography examinations using ultrasound testing equipment to evaluate the heart during Transthoracic Echocardiography, Transesophageal Echocardiography, and Cardiac Stress testing examinations.

Demonstrate ability to proficiently perform non‑invasive and invasive cardiac exams.

Demonstrate knowledge of cardiac anatomy, exam procedures, and interpretation of results.

Prepare and monitor patients before and during procedures.

Utilize the hospital electronic medical record to review patient information and document any critical findings.

On‑call hours required.

Education

Associate’s degree in an applied health science field with a concentration in cardiovascular technology, ultrasonography or other related study (preferred).

Licensure / Certification

Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (required).

Required credentialed in echocardiography by one of the following organizations:

• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)

• Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)

Experience

Minimum of one year of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer (preferred).

EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience (preferred).

Picture archiving communication system (PACS) experience (preferred).
