Position Title:
Behavioral Health Technician – PRN
Location:
Hays, Kansas – Crisis Intervention Center
Pay & Benefits
$19 per hour + shift differentials
$325 sign‑on bonus
Up to 28 hours per week (PRN)
Schedule
Includes weekends and holidays
24/7 inpatient facility
Ideal start date: April 7, 2026
Responsibilities
Providing direct care and supervision to adults in mental health or substance use crises
Supporting patients emotionally through trauma‑informed conversations, de‑escalation, and behavioral coaching
Assisting with meals, hygiene, and group activities while building therapeutic relationships
Responding to crises with calm, trained intervention techniques
Ensuring safety with room checks, contraband searches, and regular observation
Documenting behavior and progress to support treatment goals and care planning
Collaborating with clinical teams and participating in shift‑change briefings
Upholding a safe, respectful, and healing environment for all patients

Qualifications
Age 21 or older with a high‑school diploma or GED
Pass criminal background check (Kansas Bureau of Investigation and KDADS)
Physically and emotionally capable of working in high‑pressure, emergency situations
Pass pre‑employment drug screening (random screenings may occur)
Valid driver’s license and pass Motor Vehicle Record checks
