Duties
Participate in nursing activities, including the preparation, evaluation, and implementation of nursing care plans to ensure quality patient care.
Act as health liaison. Coordinate and schedule medical follow‑up, including completion of consultations.
Provide first aid and emergency nursing care.
Monitor and order pharmaceutical supplies for each individual.
Attend team reviews and present information, as needed.
Meet documentation requirements (obtaining & transcribing physicians’ orders, daily nursing note, health charts, medication regimen reviews, and case review summaries).
Provide medication administration.
Maintain inventory standards for medication, controlled substances, medical supplies.
Participate in staff training.
Prepare clinical and administrative reports.
Additional duties will be discussed in detail during the interview.
Minimum Qualifications
One year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in this title or in a title eligible for 70.1 transfer.
Licensed and currently registered to practice nursing in New York State. Must maintain a valid New York State license and registration.
For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non‑competitive appointment if the candidate meets the NY HELPS minimum qualifications.

Salary & Shift Differentials Posted Hiring Salary: $95,879 - $105,138 – includes statutory hiring rate for PS&T Grade 18 and Geographic Differential ($20,000).
Staff scheduled four or more hours between 6 PM and 6 AM are eligible for a shift differential and inconvenience pay. Employees hired for 12 PM–10 PM will qualify for shift differential (7%) and inconvenience pay (+$575.00).
Background Investigation Requirements
All prospective employees will be investigated through a Criminal Background Check (CBC), which includes state and federal Criminal History Record Checks. All convictions must be reported; conviction of a felony or misdemeanor, or any falsified or omitted information on the prospective appointee’s employment application may bar appointment or result in removal after appointment.
All prospective employees will be screened against the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR).
For DJJOY prospective appointees the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) will be checked. Presence on the SEL may bar appointment and remove eligibility.
