Overview
Position: Registered Nurse (RN) with NYS Office of Children and Family Services. The salary range is provided by NYS OCFS and the actual pay is based on skills and experience. See base pay range below and discuss with your recruiter.
Base pay range $96,147.00/yr - $114,334.00/yr
Duties Description
Participate in nursing activities, including the preparation, evaluation, and implementation of nursing care plans to ensure quality patient care
Act as health liaison
Coordinate and schedule medical follow-up, including completion of consultations
Provide first aid and emergency nursing care
Monitor and order pharmaceutical supplies for each individual
Attend team reviews and present information, as needed
Meet documentation requirements, i.e. obtaining & transcribing physicians’ orders, daily nursing notes, health charts, medication regimen reviews, and case review summaries
Provide medication administration
Maintain inventory standards for medication, controlled substances, and medical supplies
Participate in staff training
Prepare clinical and administrative reports
Additional duties will be discussed in detail during the interview
Minimum Qualifications Transfer: One year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in this title or in a title eligible for 70.1 transfer.
This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS).
Open to the Public: To be considered for appointment through NY HELPS, candidates must meet the open-competitive minimum qualifications for this position.
The qualifications for this position are: Licensed and currently registered to practice nursing in New York State. Must maintain a valid New York State License and Registration.
Additional Comments
For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply. At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. While serving permanently in a NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified.

Salary Schedule $96,147-$114,334 - Posted Hiring Salary includes the sum of the statutory hiring rate for PS&T Grade 18 and Geographic Differential ($20,000).
Background Investigation Requirements
Criminal Background Check (CBC) including State and federal checks; all convictions must be reported. Felonies or falsified information may bar appointment. Fingerprinting may be required.
SCR screening: Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment checks; fees may apply.
DJJOY checks against the Staff Exclusion List for serious or repeated acts of abuse or neglect; may result in bar from appointment.
