Pharmacy Operations Manager – Infusion Services

Overview We are seeking a skilled pharmacy leader to oversee infusion pharmacy operations in a clinical setting. This role is responsible for directing a team of pharmacists and technicians who prepare and dispense medications under physician guidance. The manager ensures smooth daily operations, regulatory compliance, and accurate inventory management while supporting patient care in oncology and infusion services.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise pharmacy staff engaged in compounding and dispensing infusion and injectable therapies.
Coordinate day‑to‑day workflow, ensuring efficiency and adherence to established safety standards.
Maintain oversight of sterile compounding practices in accordance with USP 797 and USP 800 guidelines.
Provide coverage in the cleanroom when necessary to support preparation of hazardous and non‑hazardous doses.
Monitor drug inventory, conduct audits, and implement corrective actions to prevent shortages or discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, and institutional policies.
Manage remote verification of medication orders through Epic for oncology infusion operations.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
Qualifications
Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy required; completion of a residency program strongly preferred.
Experience: At least 5 years of progressive leadership experience in pharmacy operations, including regulatory oversight and sterile compounding.
Licensure/Certification:
Active pharmacist license in the state of South Carolina.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
Schedule & Compensation
Full‑time, 40 hours per week.
100% onsite - Charleston, SC.
Standard work shift with occasional flexibility to meet operational needs.
Salary - $120k+.
Ideal Candidate The successful applicant will be a proactive leader with strong knowledge of infusion pharmacy practices, regulatory standards, and sterile compounding. They will demonstrate the ability to balance operational oversight with hands‑on support, ensuring safe and effective medication delivery for patients receiving complex therapies.
