Role Overview The Division of Fiscal Services seeks an Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor) for the Governmental General Ledger Section. The section performs fund accounting and fiscal responsibilities for over 100 funds and sub‑funds in compliance with state requirements. The incumbent will manage, direct, and train a staff of professional accountants engaged in fund and appropriation monitoring and budgetary control over a multitude of governmental and innovative/bond funding sources. The incumbent ensures the section staff are thoroughly trained and organized to meet its fiscal responsibilities for accurate and timely reporting.

Ensure the section staff are thoroughly trained and organized to meet fiscal responsibilities for accurate and timely reporting.

Provide expertise and knowledge to help ensure the financial integrity and accurate financial reporting of the Department’s programs.

Minimum Qualifications

Eligibility for state examination/ employment application STD Form 678 (or electronic state employment application).

Desirable Qualifications A successful candidate must be knowledgeable in and able to comply with governmental accounting processes, procedures, rules, and requirements. Candidates should have recent experience preparing legal‑basis financial statements, appropriation control/budgetary monitoring, and fund reconciliation. Must possess strong organizational skills, have a good understanding of State organizational structure and policies, exercise good attendance, and possess a high degree of knowledge and proficiency with computer software such as Microsoft Office as well as experience using automated accounting systems. Candidates must be able to use resource materials and understand procedures, instructions, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and control agency laws and rules to research and diagnose issues and present the findings to management. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively and express themselves clearly, both verbally and in writing, to all internal and external contacts. This position must demonstrate a customer service focus and have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts at all levels.
