Job Description Assistant Manager responsible for operating all equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing products, receiving and processing telephone orders, inventory management, and maintaining a clean facility.
Responsibilities
Operate all equipment.
Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk‑in cooler.
Prepare product.
Receive and process telephone orders.
Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
Training
Orientation and training provided on the job.
Communication Skills Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions; communicate verbally with customers and co‑workers to process orders over the phone and in person.
Essential Functions and Skills
Perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division accurately and quickly; may use a calculator.
Make correct monetary change.
Use verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
Coordinate motor skills between eyes and hands/fingers for rapid and precise movements.
Enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
Work Conditions and Environmental Exposure
Varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when removing trash and performing other outside tasks.
In‑store temperatures range from 36 °F in cooler to 90 °F or higher in some work areas, with sudden changes.
Exposure to food odors, cornmeal dust, and fumes.
Cramped quarters, including walk‑in cooler.
Hot surfaces or tools from oven up to 500 °F or higher.
Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
Sensing and Physical Requirements
Talking and hearing on telephone.
Near and mid‑range vision for most in‑store tasks; depth perception.
Ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.
Physical Demands
Lifting : Bulk product deliveries up to 50 lb; cases stacked up to 72 in high.
Carrying : Large cans up to ~3 lb, pizza sauce ~40 lb, trays of dough ~12 lb.
Pushing : Pushing trays on dollies (~24‑30 in) requiring up to 7.5 lb force.
Climbing : Infrequently navigating stairs or ladder.
Bending/Stooping : Forward bending at the pizza assembly station, front counter, and stocking stations for up to 30‑45 s.
Crouching/ Squatting : Occasionally to stock shelves and clean low areas.
Reaching : Continuously up, down, and forward; above 72 in and below 0 in; includes turning oven controls, lifting dishes, handling toppings.
Hand Tasks Constant eye‑hand coordination; use of forearms and wrists in shaping pizza dough, handling pizza peel, cutting, and assembling cardboard boxes.
Equipment and Tools Use pencils/pens, computers, telephones, calculators, TDD equipment, pizza cutter, and pizza wheel.
Delivery Duties (applicable to Drive/Store Management Team Members)
Deliver product by car and to doors of customers; deliver flyers and door hangers.
Valid driver’s license with safe driving record; access to an insured vehicle.
Navigate maps, locate addresses within designated delivery area; handle adverse terrain and multi‑story buildings.
Carry pizzas and beverages during delivery; walk and climb multiple flights of stairs.
Maintain vehicle in good running condition; inspect tires regularly.
