Clerk, Early Case Assessment Bureau The Kings County District Attorney’s Office (KCDA) is one of the largest prosecutors’ offices in the country and is committed to developing and implementing innovative prosecutorial strategies that will fulfill our vision of keeping Brooklyn safe while at the same time ensuring fairness and justice for all.

Duties

Maintain accurate, orderly, and neat filing system for screening sheets.

Draft disposition letters for closed‑out cases.

Process all Grand Jury notifications accurately and in a timely manner.

Obtain Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) abstracts.

Provide telephone coverage when necessary.

Requisition office supplies for the bureau.

Act as a liaison between the office and partnering agencies.

Perform miscellaneous related clerical tasks as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

There are no formal education or experience requirements for this position. However, the ability to understand and carry out simple instructions is required.

Candidates must be able to understand and be understood in English.

Residency Requirement New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
