Job Overview Fusion Medical Staffing is looking for a skilled Cath Lab Technologist to perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures for a 13‑week travel assignment in Long Beach, California. The role offers competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and a supportive clinical team.
Responsibilities
Prepare and position patients for cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stent placement, electrophysiology studies and other interventional procedures
Assist physicians during procedures by passing catheters, wires, balloons, and stents; operate fluoroscopy and hemodynamic monitoring equipment
Operate and maintain imaging equipment, contrast injectors, and hemodynamic monitoring systems
Set up sterile field, scrub in, and assist with infection control protocols
Perform sheath removal and apply hemostasis using manual compression or closure devices
Maintain accurate documentation – patient records, imaging data, equipment logs
Assist with inventory management, stocking supplies, and proper storage of sterile instruments and medications
Adhere to radiation safety protocols and hospital policies, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements
Perform additional duties as assigned within scope of practice
Required Qualifications
Minimum one year recent experience as a Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist
Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification
ARRT, RCES, or RCIS certification
Current ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification
Preferred Qualifications
Valid Radiologic Technologist license in compliance with state regulations
PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC Certifications
Other relevant certifications and licenses
Essential Skills
Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication skills
Proficient in reading/write/communicating in English; ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Proficiency with PC skills
Physical stamina to remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend
Ability to work effectively with diverse personnel under close supervision or independently
Capacity to cope with frequent public contact and deadlines under pressure; maintain continuous concentration to detail
Visual acuity and effective communication skills
