Fixed Term Faculty Psychology – Spring 2026
St. Charles Community College invites qualified candidates to apply for a
Full‑time Faculty (Fixed‑Term Psychology position) . Founded in 1986, SCC is recognized as one of the best two‑year colleges in Missouri. The college serves a six‑county region with a population exceeding 540,000 and emphasizes academic excellence, student success, workforce advancement, and lifelong learning.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Impart expertise, enthusiasm, and creativity in the instruction of psychology to a diverse student population.
Effectively prepare and present course content, drawing on disciplinary knowledge to design engaging learning experiences.
Demonstrate multicultural competence and create an environment affirming commitment to equity and diversity.
Provide quality instruction in classroom, online, and hybrid settings while maintaining an effective learning environment.
Seek and promote opportunities for student learning and critical thinking.
Provide individualized support to promote student success.
Provide verbal and written feedback to students in a timely manner, including grading of assignments.
Maintain currency of course content and materials, including syllabi.
Offer academic and career advising.
Establish and maintain office hours and be available for student consultation.
Perform ongoing assessment activities, including analysis of course assessments and data for continuous improvement of student success, retention, and completion.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Psychology or related field, or 18 hours of successful psychology coursework.
Professional practice/work experience in psychology or a closely related field.
Teaching experience.
Success as a collaborative and respectful team member.
Exceptional communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in curriculum development and assessment.
Experience working with a diverse population.
Expertise using a Learning Management System such as Canvas and employing technology to enhance student learning.
