Thompson Child & Family Focus – A Child's Place Program
invites applicants for the Residential Youth Care Specialist position (2nd Shift). Our organization, founded in 1886, operates across the Carolinas, Florida, Tennessee, and Kentucky, providing trauma‑informed, evidence‑based services in prevention, mental health, and foster care.
Responsibilities
Provide care, supervision, structure, and advocacy for youth (ages 10‑17) while fostering therapeutic relationships.
Engage in daily care activities, including activities of daily living and treatment support, in a residential setting.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to advance each youth’s success.
Participate in the mandatory 4‑day Therapeutic Crises Intervention (TCI) training before client engagement.
Schedule
2nd Shift: 7 pm–7 am
Week 1: Monday, Thursday, Friday
Week 2: Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday
Benefits
Starting pay range: $17.00–$19.50 per hour
Full‑time benefits including health, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance
401(k) match and education reimbursement
Paid time off: 3 weeks PTO (first year) plus 10 paid holidays; volunteer PTO; 10 paid holidays
Referral bonus, mileage reimbursement, iPhone and laptop (eligible roles)
Clinical supervision reimbursement of $60 for eligible candidates obtaining licensure
Eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness and state loan repayment program

Requirements
BA/BS degree in Human Services or related field (preferred). High‑school diploma/GED with two years of relevant youth experience accepted.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; excellent written and verbal communication.
Pass a drug screening test and a comprehensive background check.
Physical Requirements Employees must be able to walk, sit, use hands, reach, run, stoop, bend, climb stairs, and lift individuals. Agility to control and rapidly extricate self and youths in emergencies is required. Vision includes close, distant, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
