Job Requirements The purpose of the Registered Nurse Supervisor is to direct registered nursing services at the Sauk County Health Care Center. The role includes the following responsibilities:
Promote or restore residents’ health by monitoring and recording vital signs.
Provide physical and psychological support to residents and their families.
Promote residents’ independence through a resident‑centered model of care.
Assure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards of practice, measuring health outcomes against residents’ goals, and following state board and regulatory standards.
Administer prescribed treatments and medications by approved routes while monitoring residents’ response.
Assist with admission of new residents, determine special nursing needs, and assign tasks to RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.
Accompany physicians on medical rounds and update them regarding residents’ medical conditions.
Train, direct, monitor, advise, evaluate, promote, and discipline nursing staff.
Document resident information in the Electronic Charting System (ECS) and, when required, in the Minimum Data Set (MDS).
Assist in developing resident care plans and ensure adherence by the interdisciplinary team.
Supervise emergency preparedness drills and record resident progress or changes in condition on a weekly or monthly basis.
Prepare accident/incident reports for residents and staff.
Assist residents with transfers, repositioning, activities of daily living (ADLs), and respond promptly to call lights.
Transcribe physician orders, account for narcotics, resident money, and valuables.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
Experience caring for the geriatric population.
