Responsibilities (which may vary by client)
Works under the supervision of a licensed speech‑language pathologist.
Carrying out the plan of care that provides speech and language disorder services under the supervision of a speech‑language pathologist which can be safely administered in the client home as prescribed by the physician.
Maintaining current knowledge of client’s condition through observation; documenting any changes in client condition to the client file, and immediately reporting any changes in client condition or response to therapy to the supervising speech‑language pathologist.
Implementing changes in the plan of care when written by the supervising speech‑language pathologist and authorized by the client’s physician.
Consulting with the supervising speech‑language pathologist regarding the client’s progress and response to treatments.
