A high-profile Professional Services firm representing institutional investors, bankruptcy trustees, and companies in major financial disputes is seeking a Controller.
Salary: $100,000–$140,000 (Austin, TX Metropolitan Area)
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all day‑to‑day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month‑end close
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements
Manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting activities
Maintain and enhance internal controls and accounting policies
Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners
Utilize QuickBooks Online to manage and maintain accurate financial records
Provide financial analysis and reporting to support management decision‑making
Supervise and mentor accounting staff, as applicable
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience
Professional services industry experience required
Legal industry experience highly desired
Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online
Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
Ability to work in‑office on a full‑time basis
