As the business continues to grow, the company is seeking a

Controller

to oversee core accounting and financial operations, ensure accurate and timely reporting, and support leadership with financial insight and controls. This individual will play a key role in strengthening financial processes, managing close and compliance, and partnering with operations to support informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee full-cycle accounting including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.

Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.

Develop, monitor, and report on the annual budget and forecasts, providing variance analysis and recommendations to leadership.

Implement and maintain job costing and project accounting to track labor, materials, and subcontractor expenses for multiple construction projects.

Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies for all financial reporting.

Partner with project managers and operations teams to support financial decision-making and cash flow planning for ongoing projects.

Coordinate and support internal and external audits, including preparation of supporting schedules and documentation.

Prepare and present financial reports, dashboards, and analysis to senior management and the board of directors.

Lead continuous improvement initiatives for financial systems, processes, and controls to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Supervise and mentor finance and accounting staff, fostering professional growth and accountability.

What You Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.

Minimum 3+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, preferably in construction, contracting, or related industries.

Strong knowledge of construction accounting, including job costing, contract revenue recognition, and project financial reporting.

Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, QuickBooks, or NetSuite).

Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial data clearly to leadership.

Ability to lead and develop accounting staff, fostering collaboration and efficiency.

Solid understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and compliance requirements.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, project-driven environment with multiple priorities.
