Under the supervision of an RN, the Telemetry Technician performs monitoring duties. Reports to the Director of the Intensive Care Unit. FLSA: Non‑exempt. Schedule: Varies. Part‑time, Union role. Work at Lourdes Medical Center. Responsibilities
Perform continual surveillance of multiple monitors. Identify significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervene appropriately. Identify and correct for artifacts. Report abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in the patient’s physical, mental, and emotional conditions to the nursing staff. Test equipment for proper working order and report equipment problems to the supervisor. Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred. Licenses: EMT, EMT‑P, CNA, SRNA, or CMA. Preferred or completion of first semester clinical rotation in an accredited nursing degree program (ADN or BSN). Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Completion of Cardiac Telemetry Certification within 1 year of hire. Evidence of successful completion of a Telemetry/Dysrhythmia course. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment. Benefits
