Open Position: Veterinary Technician – Ophthalmology – Thrive Pet Healthcare
Eye Care for Animals – Tucson, AZ
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday (24‑29 hours/week)
We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our part‑time Ophthalmology team. The role involves hands‑on patient care, laboratory work, and support for veterinary procedures during clinic hours.
Role Responsibilities
Support veterinarians to ensure quality care, advocate for pets, and educate clients. Assist in surgeries and procedures in accordance with the state Veterinary Practice Act. Communicate with clients about pet health concerns and treatment options. Maintain comprehensive medical records using practice systems. Obtain and record health history from clients. Apply safe restraining techniques and maintain sterile treatment areas. Mentor and support fellow team members. Experience & Skills Requirements
2+ years of continuous veterinary technician/assistant experience. CVT/RVT/LVT preferred. Proficient in IV catheter placement, blood work, and injections. Proficient in anesthesia monitoring and related equipment. Team‑oriented with strong communication skills. Ready to grow professionally and advance in veterinary technology. You’ll Grow with Us
