Base pay range $58.00/hr – $69.00/hr
Job Description Operates CT/MRI equipment, prepares patients, ensures proper information for physician diagnosis, manages patient flow, displays images for physician review.
Prepares patients for examination.
Explains procedure in easy‑to‑understand terms to relieve patient anxiety.
Sets up equipment and administers procedure promptly.
Obtains consent for IV contrast materials.
Performs CT/MRI procedures
(abdomen, thorax, neuro exams, extremities, sub‑periosteal implant planning, RT planning, biopsies, etc.)
Positions patient on table, within gantry.
Registers patient history, anatomy, slice thickness, couch increment.
Calculates scans based on patient size and obtains images as ordered.
Assesses need for additional scanning with Radiologist.
Transmits cases to on‑call Radiologist via Tele‑Radiology.
Transfers images to film, optical disk or PACS.
Administers intravenous (IV) and oral contrast agents
Verifies no contraindications and calculates dose based on weight.
Performs venipuncture with appropriate gauge.
Explains IV administration, completes IV Contrast Information Sheet.
Uses flush technique and power injector.
Recognizes and assists in treating contrast reactions and extravasations.
Performs related duties as required.
ADA Essential Functions Includes accommodating individuals with disabilities and performing all core job duties.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
New York State Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist.
ARRT Registered Technologist (R.T.) required; CT or MR registration within 18 months of hire.
IV Contrast Administration certification within 6 months of hire.
Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required.
Prior experience as a Radiologic Technologist; CT/MRI experience preferred.
