Medical Office Manager – Maryland Oncology Hematology

Overview A Medical Office Manager will oversee daily administrative staffing and processes for patient flow and the delivery of high‑quality customer service. The role coordinates office procedures with front office, medical staff, and billing office to ensure a smooth flow of information within departments and implements systems to support office activities based on business need. The position requires recruitment, hiring, evaluation, and training of office staff, providing assistance and coverage for front‑office functions, and travel to all offices as required.

Responsibilities

Manages and oversees daily administrative staffing and processes for patient flow and delivery of high‑quality customer service, including PSC staff scheduling, performance accountability, and professional development.

Coordinates office procedures with front office, medical staff, and billing office to ensure smooth flow of information within departments.

Implement systems to support office activities based on business need.

Develops and maintains a professional department that assists the organization toward its goal of delivering efficient, effective, high quality, and cost‑effective administrative support in the delivery of healthcare services.

Recruits, hires, evaluates, and trains office staff as required.

Provide assistance and coverage for front office functions as needed; oversees daily administrative and office management activities.

Travel to all offices as required.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Bachelor's degree in Business or Healthcare related field preferred.

Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel required.

Excellent customer service, organizational skills and communication required.

Minimum 5‑7 years medical office management experience, with at least 2 years in supervisory capacity.

Previous supervisory experience in a medical office environment strongly preferred.

Ability to travel to all offices as required.

Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is required to be present at the employee site during regularly scheduled business hours and regularly required to sit or stand and talk or hear. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Work Environment The work environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment. Work will involve in‑person interaction with co‑workers and management and/or clients. Work may require minimal travel by automobile to office sites.
