Overview We are seeking an Emergency Room RN, also referred to as an Emergency Department RN or Emergency Services RN. The ER RN provides rapid and skilled care to patients who arrive at the hospital seeking emergency medical attention. The ER Nurses are skilled professionals who play a critical role in delivering emergent and urgent care to patients in the emergency department.

Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

Assess patients upon arrival to determine the severity of their condition and prioritize care accordingly, following standardized triage protocols to quickly identify patients who require immediate attention due to life‑threatening conditions.

Provide direct care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions and injuries, which may involve administering medications, performing procedures such as wound care or splinting, monitoring vital signs, and managing pain.

In cases of severe illness or trauma, assist with stabilizing patients and initiating life‑saving interventions, including advanced cardiac life support (ACLS), pediatric advanced life support (PALS), and trauma care.

Manage high‑stress and rapidly changing situations effectively, remaining calm, focused, and decisive while providing care to multiple patients simultaneously during busy shifts or mass casualty events.

Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment options, and discharge instructions.

Qualifications

Current and valid state RN License.

Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintenance.

Current ACLS certificate within 30 days upon hire and maintenance.

Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC within 30 days upon hire and maintenance.

Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.

Minimum of one year experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital setting; ER setting preferred.

Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

For facilities requiring, MICN within 12 months of hire for Paramedic Base Station ED.

Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire for EDAP certified facilities.

Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within 12 months of hire required.
