The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Beaver County Maintenance Organization, is actively looking for committed individuals to join our team as full‑time CDL Equipment Operators. This essential position plays a key role in maintaining our county's highways and bridges, ensuring safe and efficient travel for all. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As an Equipment Operator with PennDOT, your responsibilities include snow plowing, various construction projects, handling heavy machinery, performing minor repairs, and conducting routine maintenance on equipment and vehicles. You will also maintain detailed daily logs and reports to support operational efficiency and accountability.
WORK SCHEDULE AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Full‑time employment.
Hours: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday–Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch.
Travel, overtime, and shift work may be required; hours can change based on seasonal needs.
Telework: not available.
Salary: starting salary may be non‑negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements
Successful completion of the Transportation Equipment Operator Trainee Program (Commonwealth or equivalent Federal title), or
Graduation from a Commercial Driver's License Training School, or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements
Valid Pennsylvania Class A or Class B CDL with the Air Brake Restriction (L) removed.
Valid Medical Examiner's Certificate per FMCSA regulations.
Obtain active certification from PennDOT for heavy trucks, loaders, and two additional pieces of construction equipment during the probationary period.
May be required to obtain and maintain CDL endorsements for specific equipment.
Some positions require operation of vehicles or equipment with a manual transmission.
Subject to drug and alcohol testing per Federal regulations.

You must be able to perform essential job functions.
