Dock Workers are responsible for loading and unloading trailers for the purpose of transporting a wide variety of cargo, moving cargo, driving a forklift, or using a pallet jack or other freight handling equipment for transit. They operate mobile technology, complete all required paperwork, and perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
Responsibilities
Effectively operate mobile technology.
Load and unload trailers for the purpose of transporting a wide variety of cargo.
Actual duties and schedule may vary depending on terminal location.
Perform equipment preventive maintenance in accordance with ABF's program.
Move cargo, drive forklift, and use pallet jack or other freight handling equipment.
Prepare freight for transit.
Complete all required paperwork.
Requirements
This is a casual position; employees must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and on an as‑needed basis.
Minimum 18 years of age.
Have a stable work record.
Have a good safety record.
Be able to pass pre‑employment drug screen and post‑offer company physical.
Shift days and hours required for this position vary by location and may include days, nights, and/or weekends. Ability to work the required hours is considered a minimum requirement.

Work hours : Schedule may vary depending on Service Center location.
Travel requirements : Minimal (0–25%).
Compensation : Hourly, paid weekly.
