Registered Nurse – Dedicated Orientation Unit (5200) FT Nights
Mercy Hospital Fort Smith’s new Dedicated Orientation Unit is an 18‑bed unit focused on teaching newly hired Mercy caregivers the fundamental skills necessary to be successful. Each RN will act as a preceptor to two new hires and will care for medical telemetry patients with a 6:1 patient‑to‑nurse ratio. This role offers direct impact on the future of nursing and the opportunity to develop leadership skills.
Position Details
– Full‑time. Sign‑on bonus up to $10,000 for RNs with at least 1 year of experience (no contract).
Incentives
1+ year experience sign‑on bonus up to $10,000
Relocation assistance up to $3,000
Stay Premium Program – up to $8/hour based on years of Mercy service
Education assistance
Up to $20,000 loan forgiveness for new‑grad nurses
$2,000 tuition reimbursement per year
Day‑one medical, dental & vision insurance
PTO / vacation time

Qualifications
Education – Associate, Diploma, or BSN from a nursing school
Licensure – Current RN license in the hiring state or compact license; must meet all state board requirements
Experience – Minimum 3 years clinical nursing experience
Preferred – Prior mentor or preceptor experience; medical‑surgical experience highly favored
Certifications – AHA Healthcare Provider card (complete within probation); ACLS and BLS (obtain within 90 days of hire)
