We are seeking a

P rogressive Care Registered Nurse or PCU RN , internally referred to as our Progressive Care Nurse. In the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), the PCU RN or Step-Down RN will provide specialized care to patients with acute and/or chronic medical conditions who require close monitoring, intervention, and support to optimize their outcomes and facilitate their transition to lower levels of care. (includes, but not limited to): Conduct assessments of patients' conditions, including vital signs, cardiac rhythms, neurological status, respiratory status, and overall clinical stability, monitor changes in patients' conditions and respond promptly to deterioration Utilize telemetry and other monitoring devices to continuously monitor patients' cardiac rhythms, oxygen saturation levels, blood pressure, and other parameters; recognize and interpret abnormalities in monitoring data Administer medications as directed by physicians, including intravenous medications, antibiotics, pain management, and cardiac medications, while vigilantly monitoring for adverse reactions or side effects Perform nursing interventions and treatments as ordered by physicians, such as wound care, catheter care, suctioning, and administration of oxygen therapy; may include assisting with procedures Adhere to evidence-based practice guidelines, hospital policies, and protocols related to patient care, infection control, and safety Qualifications Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers.
