Precision Healthcare Specialists is seeking a motivated and compassionate
Medical Assistant
to support our Pulmonary & Sleep Lab practice. This role is cross-trained in both front-office and back-office responsibilities and plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring efficient clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities Clinical / Back Office Duties:
Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and medication lists
Assist providers with pulmonary and sleep-related exams and procedures
Perform EKGs, spirometry, pulse oximetry, and other diagnostic testing as trained
Prepare patients for sleep studies and provide patient education as needed
Administer injections and medications per provider orders (within scope)
Maintain exam rooms, stock supplies, and follow infection control protocols
Accurately document clinical information in the EMR
Front Office Duties:
Greet and check in patients in a courteous and professional manner
Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments
Verify patient demographics and insurance information
Collect copays and assist with patient registration and forms
Answer incoming calls and route messages appropriately
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)
Previous experience in pulmonary, sleep medicine, or specialty practice preferred (not required)
CPR/BLS certification required or obtained within designated timeframe
Skills & Competencies
Strong clinical and administrative skills
Excellent communication and patient-care skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
Knowledge of EMR systems and basic office equipment
