Shipping/Receiving Clerk
Join our team as a
Shipping/Receiving Clerk , where you will play a key role in verifying, distributing, and maintaining records of incoming materials, while also providing support to shipping, as necessary.
What You Will Do
Receive, unpack and verify all incoming materials, recording all pertinent information and checking for count accuracy. Report any discrepancies to the appropriate departments.
Receipts from various carriers – verify counts, sign, and authorize.
Follow procedures for incoming chemical materials as outlined in the Hazard Communication plan.
Deliver materials to the appropriate department based on receipt routing instructions.
Maintain records and logs as determined by Supervisor.
Data entry into computerized system; accuracy is critical.
Identify all return products, separating them and delivering to Quality.
Maintain dock area at all times for safety and cleanliness.
Assist the stockroom with various tasks when needed.
Move and transport bulk shipments once released and inspected to stock locations with instruction.
Prepare bills of lading, export forms, packing lists, debit memos, interplant transfers and contact carriers for daily shipments of plant products.
Learn all shipping responsibilities – learn UPS, FedEx systems, review packing slips and interpret all shipping instructions.
Prepare materials and BOL’s for outside processing.
Report any unusual conditions or circumstances to supervisor immediately.
Interact with all user departments. Close interaction with Purchasing, Receiving Inspection, Shipping and Stockroom.
Run daily end‑of‑day reports and distribute to appropriate users.
Maintain quality standards as established by the company.
Follow all safety regulations, including rules for lifting and movement of packages.
Assist in physical inventory.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) at a minimum.
Two years’ experience in shipping/receiving in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of UPS and FedEx shipping software is required.
Computer experience required.
Forklift certification.
Ability to lift and handle large numbers of packages without any lifting restrictions.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to multitask and prioritize.
