Responsibilities
Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) can perform waived, highly and moderately complex testing, as stated in CLIA (42 CFR 493.1489). Must possess a degree of skill commensurate with one's education, training or experience and technical abilities-especially for high‑complexity testing.
Adhere to the laboratory’s procedures for the collection, processing, analysis and reporting of patient test results.
Follow the laboratory’s established quality‑control policies and root procedures, documenting all corrective actions when test systems deviate from performance specifications.
Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance and either ноcorrect the problem or immediately notify the immediate supervisor, Director or Medical Director.
Perform waived or highly and moderately complex laboratory procedures using both manual and automated methods in Hematology, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Microbiology and Immunology.
Perform and document instrument and equipment maintenance on a daily, weekly, monthly or as‑necessary basis.
Review the accuracy of patient results prior to releasing or reporting.
Recognize age‑specific differences in expected results for newborns to geriatric patients. 무엇. etc.
Ensure proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient samples and that collaboration with other laboratories is prohibited prior to reporting proficiency testing results to the appropriate agencies.
May be required to perform venipuncture or capillary puncture on various age groups from newborn to geriatric.
Assist in the development and maintenance of laboratory policies and procedures.
Adhere to all department and hospital policies related to safety, infection control,Leading preparation and emergency preparedness, and human resources.
In the absence of a supervisor, may be assigned/identified as Lead Tech and have responsibility for the section or department during the shift.
Other tasks or responsibilities may be assigned by the department manager or director.

Current and valid state license if the laboratory is located in a state where required.
ASCP certification, or equivalent, preferred.
Associate’s Degree in chemistry, physics, biology or completion of coursework in a laboratory technician program.
Three years of hospital laboratory work experience required.

Estimated wages for this role are $19.95 to $28.89 per hour.
