Position Summary The Fitness and Wellness Director is responsible for the strategic leadership and daily operations of The Bridgewater Club’s fitness center, tennis and pickleball facilities, and aquatic complexes. This role oversees the development, implementation, and evaluation of health and wellness programs that align with the club’s mission of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Director fosters a culture of excellence, member engagement, and continuous improvement through exemplary service and relationship‑building.

Reports To Assistant General Manager
Leadership
Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate staff; ensure adherence to the Mission and Core values.
Provide leadership and mentorship, fostering a growth environment.
Manage scheduling to ensure adequate coverage for the fitness center and special events.
Maintain SOPs and develop/update policies; ensure all safety and procedural compliance.
Support members through relationship building and open communication.
Serve as Manager on Duty, attend weekly Management meetings, and assist with marketing/planning for club events.
Collaborate with other managers to promote member retention and high‑quality service.
Program & Facility Management
Oversee and develop programs for Aquatics, Wellness Services, and Youth Activities.
Market and evaluate all programming related to health and fitness.
Assess programs regularly to meet member needs.
Ensure pool operations meet standards.
Manage group fitness schedules and programming.
Coordinate scheduled services: Pilates, Massage Therapy, Personal Training, and Mind‑Body programming.
Ensure safety and effectiveness of childcare and youth activities.
Maintain cleanliness, safety, and repair of fitness center equipment.
Employ industry best practices for program and equipment quality.
Manage equipment schedules, inspections, and replacements.
Fiscal Management
Accountable for the fitness department budget, covering aquatics, youth activities, and workshops.
Oversee maintenance, repair, and lifecycle planning for fitness equipment.
Handle payroll for fitness staff.
Lead equipment purchasing: research, develop RFPs, generate price comparisons, and compile member feedback.
General
Adhere to club policies, procedures, and regulations.
Build positive relationships with coworkers and membership.
Assist with marketing and planning for special events.
Required Skills
Strong customer service and interpersonal communication.
Excellent written and oral communication.
Organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Professional demeanor and leadership presence.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science, or related field.
Minimum of 3 years in fitness program management, staff supervision, and budget oversight.
Experience developing and delivering health & wellness programs.
Ability to manage labor, anticipating business trends.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Certifications
Current CPR/First Aid certification.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Publisher.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds.
Required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach regularly.
Must work near mechanical equipment and respond to physical demands of the role.
Compensation The compensation package includes an annual base salary and bonus plan, along with medical and dental benefits, a 401(k), and vacation/personal/sick time per Bridgewater Club policies.
