Job Summary
The Engineering Test Technician performs functional testing, troubleshooting, and validation of electronic assemblies used in military and aerospace timing systems. This role works closely with Engineers to execute test plans, diagnose failures, and support new product introduction. Success requires accuracy, curiosity, and a hands‑on approach to solving technical challenges in a fast‑paced, highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and perform testing on electronic assemblies, subassemblies, and systems using approved procedures
Operate electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and environmental test chambers
Record and analyze test results, ensuring accurate data capture and traceability
Identify, document, and communicate test failures, anomalies, and corrective actions
Assist engineers in root‑cause analysis and implementation of corrective measures
Support validation testing for new products and engineering prototypes
Perform calibration checks and maintain test equipment in good working condition
Review and update test documentation under engineering direction
Handle and process components and assemblies in compliance with ESD, safety, and quality protocols
Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance test efficiency and reliability
Work cross‑functionally with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to resolve technical issues
Required Qualifications
High school diploma required
2+ years working in electronics testing, troubleshooting, or manufacturing support
Ability to read and interpret work instructions, schematics, and technical drawings
Hands‑on proficiency using standard electronic test equipment
Basic understanding of analog and digital electronic theory
Strong documentation skills for test data and nonconformance reporting
Ability to follow processes accurately with high attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree, technical school training, or military electronics background
Experience with environmental and reliability testing (e.g., temperature, vibration)
Familiarity with AS9100, IPC standards, and defense‑related quality controls
Knowledge of troubleshooting tools such as soldering, rework, and inspection equipment
Experience in RF testing, timing systems, or embedded products
Ability to support basic process improvement or fixture development
Physical Requirements
Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods and frequently perform tasks that require repetitive motion, such as typing on a keyboard.
Regular use of a computer, telephone, and headset is required, including participation in virtual meetings via Microsoft Teams.
Ability to lift, move, and carry up to 35 lbs occasionally (test fixtures, units)
Visual acuity and color perception required for inspecting components and reading displays
Frequent use of PPE including ESD garments, gloves, and safety eyewear where required
Ability to work at test stations, benches, and production environments
This is primarily an office‑based role located within a shared open‑concept office inside a warehouse facility. The work environment may include elevated noise levels due to open workspaces and conversational noise. Employees should be comfortable working in a setting where sound carries and interruptions may occur.
