Production Supervisor
Schedule:
Monday‑Saturday rotating shift. Candidate may work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift. Shifts rotate and may include Sunday. The candidate will start on the 1st shift during the first week, then assignment will be finalized. Every three weeks, work 7 days a week. Two Saturdays on, 1 Saturday off. If colleagues are on vacation, the candidate may be required to work 12‑hour splits covering half shifts.
Shift Times:
1st Shift: 6 am – 3:00 pm
2nd Shift: 2:00 pm – 11:00 pm
3rd Shift: 10 pm – 7:00 am
Attendance Policy:
Punctuality is important; lateness will be documented.
Summary The main function of a production supervisor is to supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers.
Job Responsibilities
Recommend measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems.
Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, and maintenance to detect production problems.
Hire, train, evaluate, and discharge staff, and resolve personal grievances.
Prepare and maintain production reports and personnel records.
Skills
Verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and problem solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.
Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED required. Associate’s degree in business or related field preferred.
10+ years’ experience required.
