Pay $28-$31/hr (DOE) + bi‑weekly install bonuses + benefits.
Role Summary The Roof Lead assembles, installs, and maintains solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on various surfaces, including rooftop, ground mount, and specific structures.
Daily activities include measuring, cutting, drilling, working from height, minor electrical work, assisting with structural upgrades, using hand/power tools, reading plan‑sets, following direction, and maintaining safe work practices.
Responsible for ensuring quality and safety in all work performed on the PV array.

Key Responsibilities
Drive company vehicle to and from the branch.
Load and unload company vehicle with project materials.
Load and unload materials to and from the roof/structure being installed.
Assemble all roof components efficiently and safely.
Perform all PV electrical work independently or under direct supervision.
Perform ground and final wire electrical work both independently and under direct supervision.
Provide direction and task assignment for all work performed at the PV array.
Keep constant communication with the crew lead onsite.
Install projects adhering to Freedom Forever plan sets.
Flash penetrations as needed to ensure project quality.
Ensure all work complies with Freedom Forever policies, applicable codes (e.g., NFPA‑70, IRC, IFC, CA‑T24).
Strictly follow all Freedom Forever safety regulations and policies.
Follow all direction given by senior members of the crew.
Recommend efficiency and compliance improvements.
Ensure customer satisfaction.
Communicate directly with the end user(s) when required.
Travel domestically as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education & Certifications
High School Graduate or GED.
Experience
1 year of PV installation experience, including a minimum of 6 months leading an installation crew.
Basic electrical and PV installation (racking and module install).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong understanding of PV systems, components, installation methods, and safety practices.
Ability to motivate and mentor others from a leadership position.
Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment.
Ability to assign tasks to team and ensure all tasks are completed on time.
Attention to detail.
Work safely with heights on ladders and in confined areas.
Ability to lift, pull, and push materials and equipment.
Willingness and ability to climb ladders, stairs, work on rooftops, and stand for long periods.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Proficient with power and hand tools and can train others safely.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Valid state driver’s license with a clean record.
Physical Demands & Abilities
Use hands to handle tools and controls.
Stand, walk, and run for long periods.
Climb ladders, scaffolds, or poles.
Kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl.
