Job Description
We are seeking an intellectual property paralegal to provide legal and administrative support on intellectual property matters. This role will serve as a critical liaison between Varex's business and legal teams as well as external counsel.
Key Responsibilities
Manage international patent and trademark dockets, ensuring compliance with filing deadlines and procedural requirements
Assist with the preparation, review, and filing of patent and trademark applications and related documentation
Monitor and counsel on the progress of patent and trademark prosecution matters
Coordinate with foreign associates and agents on international IP filings
Draft, assemble, proof, and edit IP-related contracts, agreements, and legal documents
Prepare and file legal documents with appropriate governmental entities, courts, and administrative bodies
Maintain organized filing systems for IP portfolios and related documentation
Conduct legal and factual research on IP matters as directed by supervising attorneys
Analyze documents and provide summaries for attorney review
Research patent and trademark databases for prior art, clearance, and infringement analysis
Monitor and ensure company compliance with IP‑related regulations and requirements
Serve as primary point of contact between company attorneys, outside counsel, and internal departments
Coordinate IP‑related communications and documentation flow
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
5+ years’ experience as an Intellectual Property Paralegal
Paralegal certification or equivalent law office experience required
Proficiency with IP docketing software and office automation tools
Experience with patent and trademark prosecution processes preferred
Job Details Full time; Regular; First Shift; Hourly Pay Rate.
