Join the City of Norfolk's Department of Cultural Facilities, Arts & Entertainment – SevenVenues – and help deliver world‑class entertainment across flagship venues such as Scope Arena, Chrysler Hall, Attucks Theatre, Wells Theatre, Harrison Opera House and Harbor Park. The Stage Crew Chief leads technical crews, oversees event equipment, manages vendor relationships, and ensures seamless productions for an array of cultural, sporting and community events. Essential Functions

Provide on‑site technical support for city‑owned equipment during events including lighting, audio, video, rigging, and IT systems. Perform venue preparation and restoration before and after events, coordinating with internal departments to verify correct setup of venue supplied equipment. Supervise contracted event staff and vendors to ensure client’s production requirements are met. Manage back‑of‑house operations from load‑in through load‑out on assigned events. Consult with video, sound, lighting, scoreboard, electronic signage and other vendors to secure new services and products. Oversee the procurement of new equipment, repairs of existing equipment, and department consumables. Manage inventory and preventive maintenance schedule for all city‑owned production equipment. Education & Experience

Associate’s degree or equivalent in a general technical or professional field (minimum two years of college). Minimum of two years theater and arena production experience. Preferred Licenses & Certifications

CPR/First Aid Valid Driver’s License Forklift Certification Man‑Lift Certification Salary

Department Hiring Salary Range: $52,581.31 – $60,388.26 Work Location

Variable schedule based on events. Regular office hours: Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays for events required. Position will work 40+ hours per week based on event schedule. Benefits
