Position Overview
Our Kidney & Hypertension Clinic is seeking motivated, compassionate, and intellectually curious Medical Assistants to join our clinical team. This role is specifically designed to support pre‑medical students taking a gap year who are seeking meaningful, hands‑on clinical experience in nephrology, chronic disease management, and interdisciplinary patient care.
We offer a flexible schedule, strong physician mentorship, and a collaborative learning environment that prepares future physicians for medical school and beyond. Many of our former Medical Assistants have gone on to medical school and other advanced healthcare training programs, and we take pride in helping future clinicians build strong foundations for their careers.
What We Offer
Pay: $17/hr with opportunities for raise

Exposure to complex cases in nephrology & hypertension
Key Responsibilities
Room patients and obtain vital signs
Assist with in‑office procedures
Administer injections and medications per protocol (where certified)
Maintain strict sterile technique and infection control standards
Assist with patient education on medications, diet, and treatment adherence
Monitor trends in blood pressure, renal labs, and symptoms
Coordinate labs, imaging, referrals, and follow‑ups
Communicate with pharmacies, insurance providers, and hospitals
Manage medication refills and patient inquiries
Document clinical encounters in the EMR
Maintain efficient clinic workflow and accurate records
Who We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree (completed or in progress)
Strong interest in medicine (pre‑med students encouraged to apply)
Gap year students are best for 1‑year commitment
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Professional, compassionate, and detail‑oriented
Prior clinical experience or MA certification preferred but not required
