$26.54 - $49.29 Job Description Summary:
Provides safe, accurate, and efficient patient care, including but not limited to patient assessment, review of labs and vital signs, medication safety, dose verification, and drug administration. Follows all Job Breakdown Instructions (JBIs) associated with the role. Provides triage care when necessary and communicates patient condition effectively to multidisciplinary team members. Key Performance Areas:
Safely and accurately administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biotherapy, supportive care, and non‑oncologic agents as ordered by providers, using Oncology Nurse’s Society (ONS) standards and guidelines. Accurate and safe disposal of biohazardous waste per OSHA and NIOSH guidelines. Responsible for new and ongoing patient education, continual patient assessment, and support. Documentation: Thorough, accurate, and timely documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) of treatment rendered and ensure appropriate charges are captured. Teaching: Educate patients and caregivers about medications, side effects, and planned treatment course and interact with patients in a caring, professional manner. Telephone triage: Prioritize incoming calls and messages from patients, families, hospitals, nursing facilities, pharmacies, and physician offices and respond appropriately in a timely manner. Supplies: Assist with inventory and restocking medical supplies, recommend purchase of new items as needed and place stock in storage areas promptly. Complete annual required safety and nursing trainings and attend all mandatory staff meetings. Maintain confidentiality of all patient and employee information. Assist in training new employees related to job duties according to JBIs. Be flexible to work at any company location as needed and work overtime when given notice. Perform other duties and projects as assigned. Comply with all federal and state laws and regulations relating to patient privacy, rights, personnel law, safety, labor, and employment law. Adhere to company and departmental policies, IT policies, and Disaster Plan. Job Qualifications and Requirements:
Education
Nursing Degree Certifications/Licenses
Unencumbered RN License in state of employment or multi‑state license Current CPR and BLS certifications Valid Driver’s License and vehicle for travel to other clinic locations as needed Previous Experience (including minimum years of experience)
Experience with hematology/oncology patients in a clinic or hospital setting. Ability to assess patient needs and condition – essential. Must have strong critical thinking skills, react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Fluency in English with excellent oral and written communication skills. Core Capabilities
