Assistant Manager II – Family Dollar

Responsibilities
Assist with store functions and day‑to‑day activities.
Provide positive customer service and address concerns.
Organize merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
Perform opening and closing procedures.
Process corporate directives such as Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey requests, etc.
Maintain promotional effectiveness of store‑front fixtures and displays.
Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record‑keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits).
Maintain stores and stockroom to company standards and secure all company assets, including cash.
Enforce safety guidelines and ensure associates follow policies.
Help manager supervise, train, and develop associates.
Ensure a positive, safe, respectful environment for customers and associates.
Maintain cleanliness throughout the store.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store (preferred).
Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
Ability to work in a high‑energy team environment.
Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
