Wellness Specialist - Part Time - Alexandria
Schedule: Part Time – 32 hours/pay period – Flexible scheduling – Supporting Grand Arbor, Nelson Gables, and Autumn Cottages
Pay: $17.00/hr to $23.31/hr (hourly non-exempt) based on experience, qualifications, and location. Benefits include health coverage, wellness incentives, and growth opportunities.
Responsibilities
Lead Engaging Wellness Programs – Facilitate group exercise classes designed to improve strength, balance, flexibility, and endurance. Provide safe and effective instruction on cardiovascular and weight training equipment.
Prepare & Innovate Wellness Classes – Plan and organize class content, introduce new exercises, and rotate class formats to keep participants engaged. Set up before class, welcome attendees, and ensure a smooth experience from start to finish.
Promote a Culture of Wellness – Support quarterly wellness assessments and celebrations. Seek and implement new methods to enhance wellness services, ensuring a high‑quality and evolving program.
Collaborate & Grow the Wellness Community – Build relationships across departments to expand wellness initiatives, increase program participation, and enhance the overall impact of Vivie’s wellness programs.
Other Duties as Assigned – Representative duties listed; not necessarily all inclusive.
Requirements
Experience in leading group exercise, wellness programs, or fitness instruction is a plus.
Knowledge of safe exercise techniques, adaptive fitness, and wellness programming for older adults.
Ability to physically demonstrate exercises and safely assist participants.
Certification in group fitness, personal training, or wellness coaching is preferred.
Ability to pass state‑mandated background check.
Ability to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate to residents, staff, and team members.
