Construction Scheduler Join Howard Shockey & Sons, Inc. as an in-house scheduler responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing project schedules for all active and upcoming construction projects. This position works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and executive leadership to ensure accurate, realistic, and coordinated schedules are established and maintained throughout each project’s lifecycle. The scheduler plays a key role in supporting strategic planning, resource allocation, and operational performance tracking across the company’s portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain baseline and updated project schedules using approved scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent).

Collaborate with Project Managers and Superintendents to define logical work sequences, durations, and dependencies.

Conduct regular schedule updates, progress reviews, and variance analyses.

Support project teams in identifying and mitigating schedule risks and impacts.

Instruct the project teams how to prepare look‑ahead schedules and reports for internal meetings and client presentations.

Standardize scheduling procedures and templates to ensure consistency across projects.

Assist with preconstruction planning and bid scheduling to support pursuit efforts.

Provide training and guidance to project teams on scheduling best practices and company standards.

Coordinate with field operations to verify progress and validate schedule accuracy.

Support claims analysis and time impact studies when delays or changes occur.

Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred).

Minimum 5–7 years of construction scheduling experience in commercial or industrial projects.

P6 Software knowledge is a requirement.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Solid understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, and logistics.

Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.

Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple schedules simultaneously.
