Job Summary Responsible for performing assigned patient care activities and assisting licensed nursing personnel. Under the direct supervision of the Patient Care Manager or designee, responsible for assigned areas on 1 shift. Incumbents are subject to overtime and call-back as required by facility.
Responsibilities
Perform assigned patient care activities and assist licensed nursing personnel.
Work under the direct supervision of the Patient Care Manager or designee.
Cover assigned areas on 1 shift, with potential overtime and call-back.
Qualifications
Skills and proficiency in oral and written grammar, communication, and basic mathematics, obtained through official completion of high school or its equivalent.
Licensed as a CNA through the Office of Long Term Care (current or previous); or completion of a state‑approved CNA training program; or minimum one semester of an RN/LPN program with a completed nursing skills checklist; or one year of PCT experience within an acute care setting.
Knowledge of patient care technician practices, related patient care activities, and hospital policies and procedures, acquired through on‑the‑job training.
Basic non‑technical skills acquired through on‑the‑job training.
Physical Demands
Normal hospital environment with continuous exposure to biological hazards and frequent exposure to unpleasant fumes and odors.
Close eye work, hearing within normal and soft tones, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures by touch and proximity.
Ability to lift up to 100 lbs., carry up to 40 lbs., push/pull up to 350 lbs., and frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.
