Job Details Position Overview The Senior Accountant is responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles and practices, overseeing standard costing of manufactured goods, managing inventory transactions, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The Sr. Accountant will report to the Controller, this role collaborates extensively with operations, IT, management, and corporate accounting to support the company's financial health and drive efficiency.

What You'll Do

Prepare monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting, including actual vs. budget analysis.

Oversee daily financial data related to inventories, payroll, departmental expenses, fixed assets, capital projects, and leases.

Manage cost accounting activities, including month-end close, job cost analysis, scrap reporting, and cost ledger maintenance.

Lead and coordinate physical inventory counts and reconciliations.

Compile and analyze financial data, ensuring accurate general ledger entries.

Prepare reports for audits, tax compliance, and internal/external stakeholders.

Automate monthly reporting processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Monitor and enhance accounting systems and procedures for better resource use and interdepartmental impact.

Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting to support management and leadership.

Mentor and support department supervisors and managers with financial inquiries.

Partner with leadership on identifying cost savings, capital expenditure analysis, and strategic improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business required.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance and accounting.

Strong ERP skills and technical accounting expertise.

Experience in standard costing and manufacturing environments.

Excellent leadership, supervision, and problem-solving abilities.

Results-oriented with strong attention to detail.

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to navigate production areas and be present on the plant floor as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience supervising accounting staff.

Experience with ERP systems such as Epicor, SAP, Oracle, Sage, or OneStream.

CPA, CMA, or MBA credential.
