Emergency Room Technician - FT night shift Company: Emerus Holdings, Inc.

Job Type: Full-time

Facility Type: 29 bed Small-Format Hospital (21 ER, 8 Inpatient)

Shift: Night shift - work two 7p-7a shifts and two 9p-3a shifts.

Position Overview The purpose of this position is to provide technical assistance and supportive patient care to meet the needs of individual patients throughout assigned areas.

Essential Job Functions

Collect, report, and document clinical data: vital signs, height/weight, intake and output, pulse oximetry, specimen collection.

Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing per established policies and CLIA regulations.

Assist with patient activities and care as directed by charge nurse or designee under the patient’s plan of care.

Provide superficial wound care.

Ensure patient safety related to age and condition.

Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality of information and records.

Maintain a clean, safe environment and assist others in aseptic technique, isolation procedures, and infection control measures.

Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.

Other Job Functions

Prepare patients and chaperone during examinations/procedures or assist with other patient treatments.

Maintain patient care areas with appropriate supplies.

Assist with patient restraints and maintain precautions; collect, report and document data related to patient needs/emergencies and unusual behavior.

Travel to all facility locations as required.

Attend staff meetings or other company-sponsored or mandated meetings as required.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED, required. One of the following:

Completion of Medical Corpsman program and one year applicable experience.

Completion of EMT-P, AEMT, Licensed Paramedic course/program and one year applicable experience.

Completion of EMT-B and 1+ years emergency room experience as ER Technician or hospital equivalent (certain markets only).

First year of education and current enrollment in an accredited School of Nursing plus one year applicable experience.

3+ years emergency room experience as ER Technician (specific markets). 3+ years as CNA with relevant hospital experience (certain market). 3+ years as Certified Anesthesia Tech/OR Tech (certain market).

Current BLS certification required.

Current ACLS/ALS certification required in all markets except Pennsylvania (strong preference) and Wisconsin (only for EMT-P).

Current PALS certification strongly preferred.

Experience with IV start, phlebotomy, and initiation of EKG strongly preferred.

Fluency in English; strong written and oral communication.
